Lees Avenue is a narrow residential street in Wentworth Falls, serving established homes with direct driveway access to the carriageway. The pavement had reached the end of its service life and required complete reconstruction rather than resurfacing.
Alpha Civil Group delivered bulk excavation and removal of the failed pavement and subgrade, new kerb and gutter, pavement construction, asphalt surfacing and reinstatement of property driveways.
The street was the sole access for the properties along it. The reconstruction therefore had to advance while the road remained in use, with every affected driveway returned to a trafficable condition at the end of each working day.

Delivery that made a difference.

From the ground up.
- Bulk excavation and disposal of failed pavement and subgrade
- New kerb and gutter to both sides
- Subgrade trim, proof rolling and soft-spot treatment
- Roadbase and stabilised base course
- Asphalt wearing course across the carriageway
- Driveway reinstatement to the new road and kerb levels
- Traffic, pedestrian and environmental controls
Understanding the challenge.
The street was the only vehicle access for adjoining properties. Staged sections and a trafficable lane kept residents connected to the road network.
Full-depth excavation temporarily cut off driveways. Compacted temporary crossings were rebuilt at the end of every shift, including ahead of weekends.

A clear plan. A controlled work face.
Each work section was matched to a day’s productive output, excavated, trimmed, built up and made safe before the next section opened.
Temporary driveway crossings were formed and compacted at the end of each shift, then progressively replaced as the permanent pavement was completed.
Water-filled barriers provided physical separation. Traffic control supported excavation, concrete placement, roadbase deliveries and asphalt operations.
Continuous pavement and asphalt operations extended into the evening where necessary so sections could be finished, compacted and reopened.
Residents received advance notification and updates as the work face progressed, with direct communication for properties affected on each day.
